What's true

You are feeding people across more than one story.

There is heritage in some of what you cook — recipes from a grandmother, a country, a tradition, a memory. There is what one child will eat and what another won't. There is what a partner can have and what your body needs. There are nights when someone is sick. There are days that are simply hard.

You hold all of it. You move between it. You make decisions about it at five o'clock with one hand on a phone and one hand on the refrigerator door.

Most meal-planning apps treat this as a logistics problem. We don't. The logistics are real, and they're not the whole thing.

What we made

The Kitchen Table is a meal-planning app built for a family table, not a meal-tracking system. It holds heritage recipes as fragments, not as data. It lets a four-year-old be at the table. It lets a grandparent who only remembers some kind of dumpling be at the table.

It knows when to be quiet. Grief, busy seasons, the days that are simply hard — the system steps back. No notifications pulling you toward streaks you didn't ask for. No scores. No leaderboards.

No advertising. Ever. Not now, not when we're bigger.

And children's profiles are unreachable to anyone outside the family. By architecture, not by promise.

What we won't ask you to do

• Hit a calorie target.
• Optimize anything.
• Justify a heritage recipe to a database.
• Perform progress when the week was hard.
• Pretend the work you do is smaller than it is.

The name we use, when we use one

Inside our team, we have a name for the work you do. We call it keeping the hearth. The hearth is the warmth around which the family forms. The keeper is the person who tends it.

You don't have to take the name. It's a name we hold for ourselves, to remind us who we are building for. We are building for you.
